From My Closet to Yours– Christmas Edition
Since we are definitely still in the midst of a global pandemic and Christmas is swiftly approaching, I know that we've all been thinking about what we could wear to the living room and family zoom call on Friday.
As if 2020 hadn't been enough, some may not have been able to get out and shop for others or themselves. For a semi-shopaholic like myself, not having the extra money to make pleasure purchases has halted my need to shop.
With that being said, I have decided to create a short lookbook comprised of 3 versatile outfits that can be worn on Christmas day.
Most of the pieces in the outfits I styled can be found in your closet and if not, I'm sure someone wouldn't mind allowing you to borrow an item from them.
Let's get into the first look: Jazzy, Chic, Classy *in my Megan Thee Stallion voice*
What you'll need:
Fitted skinny jeans
Turtle neck shirt
Scarf
Pumps
Hat
I decided to pair a turtleneck with a pair of jeans for its sheer simplicity.
These items are an easy find, even if they're not in your closet (check Walmart or Target).
Adding the scarf as a belt is something I learned at an early age and it serves as a chic addition to what would be a "basic outfit". The scar also provides drapery over the midsection, giving it a flattering effect.
I chose a scarf that had mostly primary colors that can be easily dressed with another outfit or even worn on my head.
Its defininitley all about versatility of the clothing.
The hat was perhaps my favorite addition to this fit! It added a pop of color and a layer of classiness that is unmatched.
A general rule of thumb for me is: Don't be afraid to mix patterns and textures.
As you can see, the jeans that i chose to wear had pearls alongside the outer hem which accentuated my hips and thighs. The light coat I chose also had a different texture in comparison to the scarf, turtleneck and jeans.
Also, don't over accessorize. Having on too many accessories can take away from the style of the outfit.
When you shop, try to buy items that can be mixed and matched.
I tend to keep stay away from gaudy jewelry or items that make the outfit look over-done. For this look, I wore pearl earrings, a tennis bracelet and a charm bracelet.
Pumps are a girls best friend! Even though we'll be in
the house, its refreshing to put on a cute pair of heels to make the outfit pop!
I hope that you all have enjoyed reading this post and take a way a few style tips!
Stay tuned for the next 2 outfits!
